The core element of an Amina® Plaster In-Wall / In-Ceiling loudspeaker comprises a lightweight but very strong composite panel material that vibrates in the same way as the body of a natural musical instrument. The vibrations create a diffuse sound energy that is capable of filling a space far more evenly than a conventional loudspeaker. This results in a high definition sound field over a very wide area, ensuring that an individual stereo channel or an individual surround sound channel is heard whatever the listening position and the room space available.

The beating heart of an Amina® Plaster In-Wall / In-Ceiling loudspeaker is its acoustic ‘engine’. This uses the very latest high power vibrational excitation drivers; one in the AIW1, and four in the AIW5, which allows the AIW5 to handle an incredible 80W of continuous power, and generate a massive 105dB of sound with plaster applied. The rigidly held perimeter of the panel means that the vibrations cannot cause cracking around the edge of the product.

The acoustic engine sets up tiny, but powerful vibrations in the specialist composite panel material, which are then transferred through the plaster, paint or wallpaper to the very front surface of the wall or ceiling. This in turn vibrates air molecules at its boundary, which then excites more air molecules further away, sending a diffuse sound wave out into the room.

The AIW range copes with the most dynamic of sounds, recreating the clarity of individual notes produced by the classical guitar, to the impressive effects generated in modern action movies.

The product can be used within unusual shaped rooms such as those with curved spaces, and once plastered in, become completely ‘invisible’ to humidity and other solvents. It is therefore ideal for wet areas such as pools and bathrooms and for clean rooms where walls and ceilings need to be regularly washed or wiped down.

The width of an Amina® AIW Plaster In-Wall / In-Ceiling Loudspeaker (345mm) allows it to fit well within the 400mm centred wood or metal stud-work commonly used today. Each speaker is supplied with fixings that ensure the panel sits flush with the front surface of the plasterboard. In solid block, brick or concrete walls or ceilings, a metal back box is available to assist the installation process.

Description:

The Amina® AIW3 Plaster In-Wall / In-Ceiling loudspeaker comprises a specialist lightweight yet very rugged composite panel material, which after receiving a 2mm skim of plaster, vibrates to generate acoustic energy.

It can handle 40W of continuous power and can generate 99dB of sound (measured 1m away), even after plaster has been applied.

Each loudspeaker is supplied with an in-line protection unit (APU2). This has been designed to enhance reliability by preventing excessive drive current from the amplifier. If the loudspeaker is overdriven, the APU2 will sense this and automatically reduce the volume of sound.

Applications:

The Amina® AIW3 is ideal in all locations where high performance reproduction is required to achieve highly dynamic, high sound pressure (i.e. very loud) levels. This includes high quality home cinema installations right through to high performance commercial installations in public buildings (restaurants, bars, retails malls, conference rooms).
